Getting started
3 questions
How much will it cost to build my garden?
It depends on the garden — we won't pretend otherwise. The price follows your ideas and what the plot actually needs. Tell us what you're after and we'll come and have a proper look, then give you an honest estimate, free and with no obligation. If the number is more than you had in mind, say so — we'll do our best to design something that fits your budget.
How long will it take for my garden to be designed?
Usually two to four weeks, from the first meeting through to a finished design. Bigger or more complicated plots take longer — a steep, terraced garden needs a lot more working out than a flat rectangle. We'll tell you which yours is once we've seen it.
Do you provide a design service?
Yes — design and build, one team, start to finish. It runs in three stages: we come and look, we draw it up and go through it with you, then you sign it off. We'll change the drawing as many times as it takes, and nothing gets dug until you're happy with it. Whatever state the garden's in now doesn't matter much. That's rather the point.
What we do
4 questions
Do you provide commercial landscaping?
Yes. We take on commercial work as well as domestic — outdoor space for a business that staff and customers actually use, rather than just walk past. Same team and the same standards as a back garden in Guiseley.
Do you work with sloped gardens?
Yes — sloped gardens are our specialism. A slope is harder than it looks, and it's surprisingly difficult to find a landscaper who'll take one on properly. Terracing, retaining walls and levels worked out on site — the garden nobody uses turns into the one you never leave.
Do you provide tree surgery services?
No. Tree surgery isn't something we do. We know some reliable tree surgeons though, and we'll happily give you a name.
Can you purchase plants and shrubs?
Yes. We'll buy in plants and shrubs for your borders, bedding plants for summer and winter, and we can supply and plant hanging baskets too — chosen for your soil and your light, not for whatever happened to be on the trolley.
About us
2 questions
What areas do you cover?
We work across Guiseley, Yeadon, Rawdon, Horsforth, Adel and Ilkley, and out across Leeds, Bradford, Shipley and the rest of West Yorkshire. Down-to-earth Yorkshire folk, working on our own doorstep. If you're a bit further out, ring and ask — we'll tell you straight.
What does Gagajoo mean?
It's an Aboriginal word meaning "before the beginning". Don't think about that too hard. It seemed a fair enough name for the work, though — every garden we build starts out as somewhere nobody much wanted to sit.
